The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) is an international organization that promotes education, science, culture, and dialogue within the Islamic world and beyond. With 54 member states, ICESCO was established in 1982 and headquartered in Rabat, Morocco, it focuses on cooperation among member states and supporting sustainable development while advancing science and technology, promoting cultural diversity and heritage, and encouraging dialogue among different cultures.

ICESCO plays an important role in promoting science and technology, education and awareness. In fact, ICESCO works to raise awareness of the space science importance, supports the development of space related programs and initiatives, highlights the opportunities offered by space knowledge and their applications and emphasizes the urgent need to support international cooperation within that framework, further maintaining the capacity building in space sciences and related industries in the regional and global space community.
